Glad to have you. We’re a whisky blog focused on New Zealand distilleries and the stories behind their spirits. Here’s some of what you can expect from us:
THE GOAL
New Zealand’s whisky scene is in its renaissance, and we’re here to shed light on the projects that passionate Kiwi distillers are crafting. No matter your level of whisky snobbery experience, here you’ll find grounded, unpretentious posts exploring what NZ whisky has to offer.
CONTENT
Our main medium will be blog posts including digests, tastings and longer-form writing. Under the surface are grand ambitions for interviews, podcasts and even short videos, but great adventures start with small steps, so for now we’re staying typographic.
WHO WE ARE
“We” is just me, for now. From North America originally, I’ve lived in NZ for almost six years, and I’m really excited by the country’s whisky scene. I’m a gamer, a nerd, a gym person and instrumentalist who loves to travel and, of course, share whiskey with cool people.
WHY “WILDCARD?”
Look for more info on this in a future post, but the gist is this: in computer speak, when you’re searching for something, you can use an asterisk ‘*’ to stand in for the parts you’re not sure of. It casts a wide net and returns a variety of results, which is exactly what the goal of this blog is.
